Dr. Iris-Panagiota Efthymiou, has a PhD in Behavioral Health Economics from the University of Piraeus, Greece. She is a Lecturer at the University of Greenwich and the University East London, Board Member of HAPSc, As. Researcher at the Laboratory Of Health Economics and Management (LabHEM) at the University of Piraeus. She has more than 50 publications (research articles in scientific journals, chapters, and 12 books.
Research Interest
Dr. Iris-Panagiota Efthymiou’s research interests include behavioral health economics, with a focus on how cognitive biases, decision-making heuristics, and social influences affect health behaviors. She studies the economic burden of cardiovascular diseases on individuals, families, and healthcare systems. Her work explores the design and evaluation of behavioral and policy interventions to promote heart-healthy lifestyles. She also investigates the application of digital health technologies and big data analytics to improve health outcomes. In addition, she engages in multidisciplinary research integrating economics, psychology, and public health for evidence-based healthcare decision-making.
