Track: Heart Failure and Cardiomyopathies
.webp)
The "Heart
Failure and Cardiomyopathies" session will provide an in-depth
exploration of the latest advances in diagnosing, treating, and managing heart
failure and various forms of cardiomyopathies. It will highlight cutting-edge
diagnostic techniques, including advanced imaging and biomarkers, that are
enabling earlier and more accurate detection of these conditions. The session
will cover the latest treatment strategies, from pharmacological therapies to
mechanical circulatory support devices, and emerging surgical interventions. By
addressing both the pathophysiology and management of heart failure and
cardiomyopathies, this session will offer valuable insights into improving
patient outcomes, enhancing quality of life, and reducing hospitalizations for
these chronic, life-threatening conditions.
Types of
Cardiomyopathies: Explore the various forms of cardiomyopathy, including
dilated, hypertrophic, restrictive, and arrhythmogenic right ventricular
cardiomyopathy. The session will cover the pathophysiology of each type, with a
focus on personalized treatment approaches and management strategies tailored
to specific conditions.
Heart
Failure - Pathophysiology and Clinical Management: Understand the complexities
of heart failure, from its pathophysiology to the clinical challenges in
managing acute and chronic heart failure. This session will highlight advances
in pharmacologic therapies, such as novel medications, and the role of
mechanical circulatory support devices.
Genetics
and Inherited Cardiomyopathies: Delve into the role of genetics in
cardiomyopathies, including the identification of genetic mutations that
predispose individuals to heart failure. Explore current research in genetic
testing, counseling, and the development of targeted therapies for inherited
heart diseases.
Advanced
Heart Failure Therapies: Gain insights into the latest treatment options for
advanced heart failure, such as heart transplantation, left ventricular assist
devices (LVADs), and gene therapies. The session will cover the criteria for
transplant eligibility, the challenges in organ transplantation, and promising
future treatments.
Cardiac Imaging and Monitoring in Heart Failure: Learn about state-of-the-art imaging
technologies and monitoring tools used in the diagnosis and management of
cardiomyopathies and heart failure, including echocardiography, cardiac MRI,
and remote patient monitoring systems.
